Your Partner or Your Pet–Who Gets More Love?

Who’s more loved a pet or a partner?

This may sound like a totally ridiculous question but…

According to a survey done for an online pet subscription service, many Americans would choose their pet over their partner.

The survey of nearly 1,000 dog owners says that 38 percent love their dog more than their partner or spouse.

Dog owners even say they’d be slightly more hurt by their pet running away than their relationship ending.

Now we’re certainly not suggesting that you shouldn’t love your dog (or any pet)…

But what we’ve noticed is that many people show more love, attention and affection to their dog (or even to people on Facebook) than they do to their partner or spouse.

We get it…

A dog can give you unconditional love, be so excited to see you, show you lots of affection and do what you say…

A lot more than your partner probably does! (especially the
“do what you say” part)

We know dogs are easier to love and they won’t hurt you…

But if you want to create a closer, more connected, sexy relationship with your partner, our advice is to take the love you shower on your pet and shower some on him.

If you’re single and find that your pet is the recipient of most of your love and you want more…

Consider “showering” love on others and leave some room for love to show up for you.

In order to “shower” some love on your partner if you have one or on others, you have to first find it inside you.

Find something that you like and appreciate about the person and focus on that instead of all the hurts that have happened along the way.

When you find a glimmer of love, show it…

*A simple smile for no reason at all can show love

*Take the time and give your attention to listen without wanting anything in return

*Reaffirm how important this person is to you

The truth is that we never know how long we have on this earth and we urge you to don’t hold back love even though it may not be easy.

If you have a pet, we know that he or she is very precious to you.

We invite you to treat others in your life as the precious beings they are as well.
