Renew Your Commitment to Yourself

Some people think that beauty is only skin deep but I think it’s much deeper than that.

A women’s beauty is about all of it–Body, Mind, Spirit and Soul.

It’s your radiance on the outside AND on the inside.

Where I live in the midwest in the USA–For most of us, spring is winding down and we’re cruising into summer.

Not only is this a great time to renew your commitment to your relationship to someone who’s important to you…

But also renew your commitment to yourself–your health and your well-being.

When you feel good physically, not only do you look and feel better but you’re able to show up as your best self– especially in the love department!

This is especially important after age 50 because I don’t know about you, but I’ve picked up some habits that just don’t serve me–and I’ll bet you have as well!

The change of seasons is a great time for a cleanse and with that in mind, I’m starting one from Karyn Calabreese’s book Soak Your Nuts: Cleansing with Karyn on June 8.

This is a 30-day raw food cleanse which I’d love for you to join me in…

But if this seems way too much for you right now, I invite you to make a new healthy habit during these 30 days with me.

You could…

  1. Take 15 minutes each morning for some stretching or yoga

(There are plenty of YouTube videos showing yoga poses that you can do so find your favorites.)

  1. Stop drinking soda and substitute it with lemon and water or some other delicious way to dress up water

(My daughter keeps a pitcher of filtered water in the fridge during the summer with chunks of lemon and cucumber. Delicious!)

  1. Get more sleep

(If you want to look and feel younger, make sure you get 7-8 hours sleep each night. Say no to something if you need to in order to start this important habit.)

  1. Eat more veggies

(Make one meal a raw salad a day and skip the creamy, calorie-laden dressings. I use olive oil, lemon and sea-salt as a dressing.)

  1. When your cravings kick in, give yourself some time (maybe 10 minutes) before you reach for the chocolate or chips

(In this 10 minutes, tune into yourself to see if you can determine if you want the chips or chocolate to soothe your emotions. If so, do something you enjoy instead–like maybe take a relaxing bath.)

  1. Be around people who uplift you

(Consciously choose to be with those who you feel good being with and limit the time with those who you don’t feel so good being with)

  1. Take a walk outside everyday or some other form of exercise

(If possible, walk somewhere in nature where the trees can nurture you)

I was thrilled when Michele wrote that she was joining me by meditating 5 or more days a week!

Let me know if and how you’d like to join me–and how I can support you!

Much love, Susie
